Hardin County Pet Protection is a proud supporter of Hardin County Animal Control. We believe that the most efficient way to help the greatest number of animals is to pool resources and provide the best possible conditions for homeless pets rather than duplicating existing services by opening yet another shelter.
In February 2005, HCPP donated $7,250 to Animal Control to fund a huge fenced "Puppy Playground" so the homeless dogs housed at Animal Control could have space to run and socialize with other dogs and potential new families.
On-site spay/neuter at Animal Control was a longed for aspiration that has now become reality! In October 2005 Hardin County Pet Protection made our first donation toward the construction of new dog runs, a surgery room and surgical equipment for on-site spay/neuter for all pets adopted from Hardin County Animal Control as well as a veterinarian to care for the homeless pets. Over the past six years, HCPP has donated a grand total of $158,957.93 for construction, surgical equipment and supplies, vaccine and operating expenses for the spay/neuter clinic. Since the first surgery was performed in August 2007 we have facilitated an amazing 2,594 spay/neuter surgeries at Hardin County Animal Control.
Please consider visiting Hardin County Animal Control and adopting a new family member today. They have many great dogs and cats that need a second chance to love and be loved.
